What We Do
SAMDP advocates policy interests of black healthcare professionals in South Africa and played a pivotal role in unifying healthcare professionals after the 1994 democratic elections.
We collaborate with entities like the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Dental Association (SADA) to drive positive changes and advancements in healthcare.
Our members actively serve on various healthcare committees, representing the Government and Private sectors.
To address past injustices and serve the healthcare needs of historically disadvantaged populations of South Africa, we partake in several initiatives:
- Public policy and regulation formulation to attain South African constitutional imperatives.
- Continuous professional development of members through training and communication to ensure their readiness to deliver quality care.
- Facilitating active participation in the country’s economy to alleviate poverty and unemployment levels.
- Ensuring that members play an active role in the transformation of our economy.
